Brighton, CO is located just 22 miles northeast of downtown Denver alongside the Platte river. The city was established in 1887 and is proud of its rich and diverse cultural background. Brighton was first known for its’ agricultural background and it became a stop along the railroad in 1884. The original train depot is still being used today as a restaurant and is a very popular stop for area residents. Brighton is the county seat of Adams County and host to the Adams County Fair and Rodeo each year. The Adams County Historical Museum is located at the Adams County Regional Park and is a favorite destination for children of all ages. School District 27J is one of the fastest growing districts in the state. Residents are able to choose between several traditional elementary, middle, and high schools as well as numerous charter schools.
In 2007 Brighton opened its new medical center, Platte Valley Medical Center. This new state of the art facility is a tremendous addition to the community and the citizen’s of Brighton are very proud to have this wonderful facility located here.
